Surviving the Forgotten Armenian Genocide by Smpat Chorbadjian

A gripping eye witness account of the genocide perpetrated by the Ottoman Turkish government against its Armenian subjects during World War 1. Smpat Chorbadjian tells his story of the appalling hardships he suffered. It shows his courage, endurance and the will to survive and records, his healing and restoration, after years of extreme misery.
Patrick Sookhdeo has a Ph.D. from the School of Oriental and African Studies, London University on issues relating to Islam and society. He is the Director of the Institute for the Study of Islam and Christianity and also serves as a senior advisor and consultant on security and military issues. He is currently Adjunct Professor at George C. Marshall European Center and Senior Visiting Fellow at the Defence Academy of the UK, as well as lecturing at other institutions. Forced to leave his home and everything in it, Smpat Chorbadjian tells his story of the appaling hardships he and his family suffered. Brutally whipped into walking, Smpat and his family were forced into a long journey with their fellow Armenians that brought hunger, disease, pain, sorrow and death to many. This book is evidence of his courage, endurance and the will to survive that were needed to make the agonizing journey, and records his ultimate healing and restoration, that only came after years of extreme misery.
