Taking Measures Across the American Landscape by James Corner

The authors and photographer of this work present words and images reflecting the flights they have made over the continental United States, journeys which have enabled them to understand the way that the American landscape has been forged by various cultures and what the future possibilities are.
James Corner is founder of James Corner Field Operations, a landscape architecture & urban design studio. He is also professor and chair (2000-2012) of landscape and urbanism at the University Of Pennsylvania School Of Design. JCFO's major projects include the High Line (New York City) and the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park (London). James' work has been recognised with the Smithsonian's Cooper-Hewitt National Design Award (2010) and the New York City Arts Commission Award for Excellence in Design (2005), among others.

Alison is Assistant Professor of Landscape Architecture at the University of Southern California and co-founder of foreground design agency.
