Marbled endpapers, pastedowns, and text block edges. Ex-libris plate to front pastedown from the Chesterfield House. Contains 9 black and white illustrated plates by W Hole. Pages are lightly tanned with mild foxing throughout. Cracking to hinges, front board is slightly loose. Binding throughout remains firm with pages securely attached. Boards have noticeable edge wear with corner bumping. Splits to joints with binding thread slightly exposed. Leather peeling to spine and edges. Small water staining to rear. Scratches to both boards. Lettering and decorations to spine slightly dulled. Book has a slight forward lean.
