The Time Machine. The Time Machine is the fifth of six full-cast adaptations in 2017 of the works of British Sci-Fi writer extraordinaire Herbert George Wells. The novel has been adapted for this production by writer Marc Platt, who scripted Ghost Light, one of the most regarded of classic Doctor Who stories on TV. Star Ben Miles is a hugely familiar face on British TV, including significant roles in Lark Rise to Candleford, Cold Feet, and being one of the stars in Coupling, by Doctor Who producer Steven Moffat.
