Parks, Gary Lee: - Jack Tillmany, recognized authority on early cinema and author of the Images of America volume Theatres of San Francisco and coauthor of Theatres of Oakland, draws from a personal archive gathered during a 30-year career in cinema management. Gary Lee Parks, a board member of the Theatre Historical Society of America and author of Theatres of San Jose, has been involved for over 20 years in theatre preservation and restoration as both a professional and a volunteer. He has accessed numerous public and private collections to compile this volume. The Images of America series celebrates the history of neighborhoods, towns, and cities across the country. Using archival photographs, each title presents the distinctive stories from the past that shape the character of the community today.
