They Can't Take That Away from Me by Jackie Mcgregor
They Can't Take That Away From Me is a musical memory tour with the stars to a place where it is yesterday once more.
A wonderful ideaMy mother had Alzheimer's and even when she was in the final stages music seemed to have a calming effect on her. -- Oscar-winning actress Olympia Dukakis
For the past twenty years Jackie McGregor has been a carer to both parents who have suffered with Alzheimer's disease. She was inspired to create the book when she saw the effect that music had on her ailing father, listening to the old wartime band songs brought him alive again as he relived his courting days. Jackie is a newspaper columnist, journalist and poet. She has been a copywriter of greeting card verse for a number of years and was formerly a cinema reviewer for The Mirror newspaper. Jackie lives in Belfast, Northern Ireland with her husband Steven and their four year old son. This is her first book.
