
Three Men in a Boat by Jerome K Jerome
The famous story of three men and a dog setting off in an open boat on a hilarious voyage up the Thames. The story is full of mishaps - falling into the river and getting lost in Hampton Court Maze - but also offers comments on the world. Jerome K Jerome was born in Walsall and educated at Marylebone Grammar School. He started work at the age of 14 as a railway clerk and later worked as a schoolmaster, actor and finally as a writer and journalist. He wrote many books and plays and isbest-known for the ever-popular THREE MEN IN A BOAT. He died in 1927.
