Tidewater by Steamboat by David C Holly
The name Weems, and the Weems line, symbolized nearly the entire epoch of the steamboat on the Chesapeake. Illustrated with maps, drawings and photographs, this is a portrait of life on the Patuxent, the Potomac, and the Rappahannock, where the Weems boats sailed.
David C. Holly served as a naval officer in World War II and the Korean War before teaching government and foreign affairs at American University and Hampden-Sydney College. His published work includes Exodus 1947 and Steamboat on the Chesapeake.
