Lori Deschene grew up on Massachusetts, where she developed into a Type-A overachiever with a strong desire to accomplish more and be more--largely in the belief that doing so would demonstrate her worth and loveability. At the age of twelve, she started working two jobs while retaining her honor roll status and spent her nights rehearsing for community theatrical events. Her schedule was so jam-packed the a buddy projected in her high school yearbook class prophecy that she'd one day write and appear in a one-woman play about her life called Stress. While she hasn't yet written that script, she has learned a lot about stress management since leaving her hometown in 2002. Since then, she's worked all over the United States, lived in numerous states, recovered from a decade-plus struggle with bulimia, healed from significant depression, learned to embrace her emotional sensitivity, and established a job that suits her introverted personality and allows her to leverage her traumatic past for good.Lori is the author of Tiny Buddha: Simple Wisdom for Life's Hard Problems, Tiny Buddha's Wisdom for Life's Hard Questions, Tiny Buddha's Wisdom for Life's Hard Questions, Tin Lori hopes to one day write and illustrate her own picture books after working as a contributor for nationally syndicated girls' publications.
