Trailerama by Phil Noyes
Trailerama provides a colorful look into America's love affair with life on the road. It's a visual wonderland filled with fascinating and diverse imagery of the travel trailer. From sheet music to greeting cards, board games to the cover of The New Yorker, the travel trailer figured prominently in twentieth century American pop culture. It's put on grand display in this kitschy celebration culled from the personal collection of author Phil Noyes and all his trailerite buddies.
Phil Noyes has been a television and film producer in Los Angeles for two decades. He wrote and produced the PBS special Mobile America, which uncovered the history of the RV in America. He cowrote the Gibbs Smith book Trailer Travel and also writes a regular column for RV Magazine called Trailer Tribe. His current vintage trailer fleet includes a 1948 Aljoa, a 1947 Westwood and a 1953 Star.
Documentary filmaker Phil Noyes is a producer of the popular PBS series California's Gold. He has completed a documentary about the history of the RV in America that will air beginning in spring 2002.
