Trajectory Management by Paul Strebel
Much business leadership advice oversimplifies the challenge of managing a business trajectory -- that is, of dealing with changing conditions over time. The ongoing search for universal best practice, for what creates excellence, for enduring firms, and for the best change management obscures the diverse situations we face in reality.Paul Strebel is the Sandoz Family Foundation Professor of Strategy and Change Management at IMD, the International Institute for Management Development in Switzerland, where he directs the Breakthrough Program for Senior Executives and is a keynote speaker, consultant and seminar leader.
He is the author of Breakpoints: How Managers Exploit Radical Business Change, The Change Pact: Building Commitment to Ongoing Change and the editor of Focused Energy: Mastering Bottom-up Organization. His articles have appeared in the Harvard Business Review, California Management Review, Strategic Management Journal, and other publications. Paul is an alumnus of Princeton and Columbia Universities in the U.S. and the University of Cape Town in South Africa.
