If you like freestyle embroidery, then this is the book for youPages of traditional and modern transfers to iron and stitch away at to your heart's content! You will find floral, African, Oriental, Christmas, borders, Delft and fairies in here; something for everybody.
For perhaps something for everybody looking to stitch a large project. The book was originally published in France, and the French title mentions that it is a book of transfers for tablecloths, as indeed it is. There are even some helpful pages showing the layout for best results, and you can make cloths for tables of most sizes, runners and placemats with these attractive and versatile designs. If you want small motifs for cards or other projects less than a generous-sized placemat in size then you will need to look elsewhere - but a brief glance at the book will tell you that. For the larger project I have rarely seen such attractive and in many cases imaginative designs - you will have the best dressed table in town if you make your projects from here. This is not a book for beginners, but if you are a little rusty there are some good stitch diagrams at the front, all the old favorites associated with freestyle embroidery. A handsome and useful book for all embroidery fans who own at least one table!

This unusual book contains over a hundred pages of designs for embroidery in the form of transfers to iron onto fabric. There are floral, geometric, lettering and fairies included in the wide variety of images. The start of the book has sections about using the transfers, preparing the fabric, tips on embroidery stitches, and how to care for materials. There are also pages showing beautifully completed designs of the finished products. As the designs are linear, they could be used as outlines in a very traditional way, using basic embroidery stitches or if a more adventurous approach appeals, they could be developed using a non traditional stitching to great effect. This book has a huge resource of ideas suited to beginners or experienced stitchers.
