Ken Ilgunas has worked at the Gates of the Arctic National Park as a backcountry ranger, an elementary school tutor, and an Alaskan tour guide. He's hitchhiked 10,000 kilometers across North America and paddled a birch-bark canoe 1,000 miles across Ontario. Ilgunas holds a bachelor's degree. with a bachelor's degree in history and an M.A. in English from SUNY Buffalo. Duke University awarded me a bachelor's degree in liberal studies. He is from Wheatfield, New York, and is the author of the trip book Walden on Wheels.
