The Trouble with Keeping Mum by Rosie Wallace
Annie Cochrane has it all up in the air: a demanding job in the Scottish Government, a teenage son with problems at school, and a mother whose behaviour is getting increasingly erratic. There just aren't enough hours in the day, especially when there are two men on her mind and a devious First Minister plotting to end her career. With the tabloid press in pursuit, and life-changing decisions to be made, how will Annie avoid dropping everything? Rosie Wallace's new novel takes on a very modern dilemma with wit, warmth and wisdom.
'Her observations about women's lives are sharply pointed and pertinent' - Sydney Morning Herald
Rosie Wallace was brought up in Milngavie, near Glasgow but has lived on Orkney since her marriage to Jim Wallace, MP for Orkney and Shetland, bringing up their two daughters. She is a speech and language therapist, and since 2003 has been working freelance, specialising in dyslexia. In 2007, her husband stood down from the Scottish Parliament and was appointed to the House of Lords, so she acquired a title which is only used occasionally!
Rosie's interests include cooking, travelling and walking.
