The Undertaker's Wife
The feel-good place to buy books
The Undertaker's Wife by Dee Oliver
The Undertaker's Wife is one part love story (socialite Dee Oliver fell head-over-heels for a fourth-generation funeral director), one part advice column (his sudden death taught her more about dying than she ever wanted to know), and one part unexpected delight (she landed a job in an African-American funeral home, with often hysterically funny results).
Dee Oliver is the socialite widow of John Oliver, who was a fourth-generation funeral director and the impeccably mannered proprietor of the largest funeral home in southeastern Virginia. Dee holds a degree in mortuary science and writes about death (and surviving the loss of someone you love) in her blog, Going Out in Style. She is the mother of three girls, ages 17-21. Jodie Berndt has written or cowritten many books, including the bestselling Praying the Scriptures series for children, teens, and adult children. A speaker and Bible teacher, Jodie has been featured on programs like Focus on the Family, The 700 Club, and a host of popular podcasts, and she has written articles for many news and faith outlets. She and her husband, Robbie, have four adult children, and they live in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
