Undocumented by Adella Schulz

UNDOCUMENTED is based on the true story of twelve-year-old Frank Lanc, a European immigrant, already working hard in the coal mines of Bohemia. In 1885, he devises a scheme that gets him to America carrying only a few coins in his pockets, along with his dream of creating a better life. In spite of his ever-present fear of being discovered and deported, his work ethic, courage, perseverance, and sense of humor, along with his love of music usher him into adulthood toward his goal of owning land and farming in Nebraska. Frank's story serves as a powerful example of the hardships our ancestors endured, so we may all call ourselves Americans.
Adella Pospisil Schulz is a Nebraska native who has spent all of her adult life in Colorado. She is married and the mother of four grown sons, three daughter-in-law's, seven grandchildren, five great grandchildren and six great, great grandchildren. Her passion for writing began in a one-room school house back in elementary school and has remained with her throughout her life. Upon retiring from ten years with an airline, running a bed and break-fast for five years and owning her own fingernail boutique, she published a memoir of her own life story, Adelka: Memoirs of Adella Pospisil Schulz as well as her husband's life story, The Life Story of Robert Lee Schulz, a cookbook called Sweet Adeline's: Collection of Czech Recipes, and a children's book called My Nine Lives: The Life Story of Tony, an Amazing Cat. She has had numerous short stories published in various publications and newspapers.
