Wayne Lutz was the Chairman of the Aeronautics Department at Mount San Antonio College in Los Angeles from 1980 to 2005. Seven times, he led the college's Flying Team to national championships as the Best Community College in the United States. He also spent 20 years as a U.S. Marine. Officer in charge of Air Force C-130 aircraft maintenance. His educational background includes a bachelor's degree in science.

The University of Buffalo awarded him a bachelor's degree in physics and a master's degree in science. from the University of Southern California with a degree in systems management. The author has 7000 hours of flying experience as a flight instructor. He's spent summers in Canada for the past three decades, exploring remote locations in his Piper Arrow and sleeping next to his plane.

Wayne splits his time between a floating cabin on Powell Lake in Canada and a Bellingham, Washington, city-folk condo. Regional Canadian periodicals and science fiction are among his writing categories.
