COMITMENT ADVOCACY EXCELENCE Organizations whether a place of employment through social, familial or interpersonal relationships, face problems. Problems may arise from the very structure of the organization to the behavior of those participating. We are responsible for our actions so we must first conquer ourselves. It does not matter the task or the sex of the people or person involved. Therefore it becomes necessary to learn our limitations. Matriarchal and patriarchal functions cannot exist without the other. Difference exists and we all live within both. The well-spring arises from our deep unconscious and thus we need to first reach into our hidden inner being. To balance ourselves it is best to initially contemplate ethical Aphorisms to where our lives reside. Mythic Expression born out of our Archetypical Dimension in first defeating our innate Dark Sides are observable with: Heracles first defeating a lion of masculine animus for the anima. Eve first defeating a snake of feminine anima for the animus.
Maude Matteoli was born in Tereglio, a town in the province of Tuscany, Italy in 1895. When she was six years old her family immigrated to the United States through Ellis Island and settled in San Francisco. After the 1906 earthquake they moved east to Sacramento. Angelo Matteoli was born in 1891, in the town of Lucca, also in the province of Tuscany. At the age of seventeen he immigrated to the United States where he met Maude. They married and raised a son, Albert. Angelo was the personal tailor for California Governor Goodwin Knight as well as Governor Earl Warren before Governor Warren became Chief Justice of the United States Supreme Court. Maude was a leader in the Sacramento community. She fulfilled the duties of Recording Secretary for the Regina Margherita Lodge No. 1423 for fifty years. She helped Sacramento's Dante Club Women's Auxiliary and served as its first president in 1926-1927. The Dante Club was and still remains one of Sacramento's most respected social institutions and gathering spots. Maude was also a member of the Daughters of Italy. During World War II these organizations assisted the United Services Organization (USO). Maude contributed time and energy to the Red Cross where she functioned as an interpreter, primarily for Italians who had been Prisoners of War. Her three cultural organizations have long helped newly arrived immigrants cross language and social barriers. Food is a good start in extending cultural horizons and encouraging multi-generational growth toward unity. Maude was active in the community until two years before her death in 1979. Her three grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren still live in Northern California and they worked together to make this book available to the public, in loving honor of her memory.
