Vampire Mountain by Darren Shan
In the fourth book of the bestselling Cirque du Freak series, Darren Shan begins a grueling, three-part adventure. Darren has settled into life as a vampire's assistant and feels at home in the Cirque du Freak. But now he must leave the freak show and his friends behind. With Mr. Crepsley as a traveling companion, he embarks on a dangerous trek to the very heart of the vampire world. But they face more than the cold on Vampire Mountain--the vampaneze have been there before them. Will a meeting with the Vampire Princes restore Darren's human side or turn him further toward the darkness? Only one thing is certain: Darren's initiation into the vampire clan is more deadly than he can ever have imagined.I was born in London in 1972 and relocated to Ireland at the age of six, where I have resided ever since. I've always wanted to be a writer, and I've always enjoyed telling stories. I started off writing adult books and had a number of them published. I decided to try a children's book on a whim one day. Cirque Du Freak was born as a result.
It took off, much to my surprise, and I became a de facto children's author! I enjoy viewing movies while I am not working or traveling. I've even been known to read a book or two.- Darren ShanDarren is presently working on the fifth installment of his terrifying Demonata series, which will be released in Autumn 2007.
