The 'Arab Spring' has changed the political map of North Africa and the Controllers of MI6 view it as a long-term threat to the mainland of Europe. The Russians have set up a secret arms dealership at Valescure in the South of France to supply these new governments. MI6 plans to infiltrate their operation and remove the threat.
I live Joppa at the east end of Edinburgh, the capital of Scotland with my wife Joyce and have two married sons Campbell and Grant. We are a a very sporting family and both the boys played basketball for Scotland. I relax from writing by watching my football team Heart of Midlothian. Vengeance in Valescure is Book 4 in my Operation Large Scotch Series which I started in 2017. I am a late convert to writing, publishing my first book when I was seventy-one, which set me off on my new hobby that I am thoroughly enjoying. The fifth book in the series will be out later this year. I have taken advice from other authors who recommend you write about subjects you know something about. My first novel 'OPERATION LARGE SCOTCH ' is about Irish terrorist threatening attacks on the Scotch Whisky industry and my eight years working at the Caledonian Distillery came in useful. Book 3 in the O.L.S. 'JOPPA ROCKS got nominated at the 2021 Bloody Scotland Book Festival for their 'Pitch Perfect ' event and although I didn't win it gave me plenty encouragement to keep writing. Vengeance in Valescure takes place in a town i have visited several times on golfing holidays. Prior to writing golf has been my passion and I managed to get down to one handicap but didn't have that little bit extra to fulfill my ambition to play in the Open Championship. When I was growing up my favourite authors were Alistair McLean, Frederick Forsyth and Wilbur Smith and I try to produce their writing style in my books. All my books are available on Amazon /Kindle.
