Viva Colombia by Mark Biram

Viva Colombia: A Social History of Colombian Football tells the story through 15 distinct episodes and 15 national team players. From Colombia's first World Cup appearance in 1962 through to the present day, it considers what some of the most emblematic players to wear the shirt tell us about the Colombian nation.

Mark Biram is a Doctor of Hispanic Studies from the University of Bristol. He is the author of another book on Latin American football, Women's Club Football in Brazil and Colombia: A Critical Analysis of Players, Media and Institutions. He has spent prolonged periods in Colombia and Brazil and has been published in several influential regional and sports journals including Bulletin of Latin American Research and Soccer & Society.
