Howard Murad, M.D., is a dermatologist who is also a pharmacist. Dr. Murad is an assistant clinical professor of dermatology at the University of California, Los Angeles, and was designated one of the top four physicians in the US by Vogue. He pioneered many of the improvements in skin care and dermatology that are now widely utilized. He started the Murad Skin Research Laboratory in the late 1980s and revolutionized the skin-care market by introducing over-the-counter alpha hydroxy acid products. He also opened one of the country's first medically supervised day spas at the time. All Murad products have included antioxidants and anti-inflammatory substances since 1992.
