When Football Was Football: Stoke City by Simon Lowe

This is a unique and magnificent collection of photographs of Stoke City FC from its earliest days until 1992, freshly selected from thousands of images in the Daily Mirror's extensive archive. These superb photos, many of them previously unpublished, document the rise of this famous, traditional and much-loved 150-year-old football club.
Simon Lowe has written seven books about his beloved Stoke City FC, including 'Delilah Roars Again', 'Potters at War', 'Match of my Life' and 'Stoke's Greatest Games'. He co-produced the Official Video History of the Club in 1997 and also a fond farewell to the Victoria Ground 'The Boothen Ends' the same year. Simon has also written the Fanzone column in the Sentinel newspaper for eight years. He lives in Warwickshire with wife Kath and Stoke-supporting daughter Evie.
