Wings Above the Planet by Andrii Sovenko

The Ukraine based Antonov Company had its origins in the Soviet era Antonov Design Bureau which latterly had been working on large transport aircraft. Created in the late 1980s in the turbulent post-Soviet era, the new company began to focus on this aspect of the international aviation market. Antonov Airlines was the first to offer the services of the most capable heavy-lift aircraft in serial production, the An-124 Ruslan, laying the foundations for a new sector of the market, the transportation of oversized and super-heavy cargoes
Sovenko, Andrii: - Graduating from aviation university in 1987, Andrii Sovenko has been working for the Antonov company for 30 years now, appointed to different engineer and management positions. He took part in Ruslan's and Mriya's operations as a member of the technical crew. Since 1998, he has been a member of the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine. He is one of the founders of the Ukranian aviation magazine Aviation and Time. He is the author of more than 250 publications on aviation-related topics.
