Brian Brown has carved out a unique route in life. He quit college because it didn't fit with him, and he went on to write the great American novel. He emerged from a four-day stay at a bed and breakfast with a manuscript that he still has on his bookcase. When he needs a good laugh, he skims through the pages. After a few years, he decided to travel across the country on his motorcycle to explore the sights.
This would be the most thrilling year of his life, culminating in his weeping father's hug upon his return to Vermont. The reconnection was brief, as he was soon on his way out of the state to check on a girl. While the girl didn't work out, his sense of adventure grew. He returned to Vermont and decided to do something he'd always wanted to do: write!
He enjoyed working long hours and meeting interesting individuals. He decided to see what the grass on the other side of the fence truly looked, smelled, and tasted like because the work barely paid the bills. It turned out to have a grassy flavor. He leaped at the chance when another girl proposed they go away to fairy-tale-land together.
Soon, the two lovers were soaking in Wisconsin's abundant sunshine and fast food variety. After a few wonderful years, they began to pine for their old lives, and before they realized it, New England was their new home. Brian found interesting job in his new home, but he couldn't get the impulse to write out of his mind. He stopped his work and sat down at his computer when it got too intense to ignore...
Devil's App is Brian's debut short fiction. He's now working on Agent Brother, a series of suspense stories. Oh, he married that gal in the end!
