Women in Roman Britain by Lindsay Allason-Jones
A new edition of the 1992 book detailing the complexities of life for women in Roman Britain. This edition chronicles the latest discoveries - tombstones, writing tablets, curse tablets, burials and artefacts - to create a vivid picture of the lives, habits and thoughts of women in Britain over four centuries. Diversity of backgrounds, traditions and tastes lies at the heart of the book - displaying the cosmopolitan nature of the Romano-British society.
