When Stefan was seven years old, his father died of a tumor. On the eve of his fiftieth birthday, Stefan's wife succumbed to a similar tumor. Motivated by these two losses at very different stages of his life, this book explores how Stefan learnt to deal with adversity, and how he and his family learnt to make choices that allowed them to live in joy and peace.

When suffering hits, in whatever form, we have a choice: to allow it to take us down or to rise up and meet it. My family and I chose to meet it. If the way we did it and the choices we made can bring some form of comfort to anyone who may need it, then this book will have served its purpose.
