About Abraham Lincoln

Abraham Lincoln (1809-1865) was the sixteenth president of the United States of America. Lincoln served as president for the duration of the American Civil War, and his Gettysburg Address is considered one of the greatest speeches in American history. On April 14, 1865, Lincoln was shot by Confederate sympathizer John Wilkes Booth and died the following day.
