Augustus, Benedict, Charley, Darius and Edward are known as the alphabet cousins, and are all noisy and happy. Another cousin, the recently-orphaned Kate, goes to live with them. At first she cannot settle, and problems arise, but everything changes when she discovers an unexpected talent.
