This is a collection of 117 nonsense rhymes, each featuring an animal, sometimes real, sometimes imaginary, and all are illustrated by Emma Chichester Clark. There are rhymes about ducks, pigs, hens, rabbits, cats, rats, bats, dogs and horses; monkeys, elephants, bears and crocodiles; a carrion crow and a cormorant, an 'awk and an arymous; a frogbird, a quangle wangle and a wee bit moosikie. Amongst the limericks, ballads, nursery rhymes, epigrams and tongue-twisters, are works by Edward Lear, Lewis Carroll and Hilaire Belloc. Emma Chichester Clark won the Mother Goose Award in 1988 for "Listen To This", and has also illustrated "Cissy Lavender", "Ragged Robin" and "The Minstrel and the Dragon Pup".
