Digital Photography Pocket Guide Summary

Digital Photography Pocket Guide by Derrick Story

This guide provides basic photography techniques to help you take the kind of pictures you've always wanted to. This handy little guide is a quick-reference photo mentor that explains each of the camera's components, shows you what they do, and then helps you choose the right settings. When you want to ask an expert, "How can I get that picture?", simply pull this small guide out of your camera bag, backpack, or back pocket and find the answer quickly. The book covers everything from image resolution, the use of lenses, shooting sports action, close ups and night shots, to memory cards, transferring images, archiving, making QuickTime movies, and much more. Topics in the guide's three main sections on "Digital Camera Components," "Standard Camera Functions," and "How Do I...?" are labeled A to Z, so if you want to see how a particular component corresponds to a function, or how it solves a problem, you can check the same letter in each section. For example: Topic "B" in "Digital Camera Components" introduces "Lenses - Optical vs. Digital Zoom."; Topic "B" in "Standard Camera Functions" discusses "Zooming - when to consider using digital zooming, when not." And topic "B" in "How Do I...?" gives tips on "Framing sports action, landscapes, and portraits. "Digital Photography Pocket Reference is for anyone who uses a digital camera. Even advanced amateurs forget when to overexpose or underexpose certain subjects, and novices will appreciate the explanations of the various camera functions and tips on how to take better pictures.
