A modern treatment of microwave design methods and analysis with emphasis on practical applications, is provided by this book. It also offers a description of modern monolithic microwave integrated circuit (MMIC) design. The contributions of a diversity of experts are integrated by means of a systems framework. The systems use of microwaves is used to define system parameters to be met by the microwave engineer, make clear the impact of design parameters on the user, and explain subsystem and component performance requirements. Chapters are organized by systems, subsystems, components, and measurements. There is a description of modern design techniques, including computer-aided design, with examples of actual current designs. Current measurement techniques are used to describe models for the engineer to verify the design; this includes a discussion of errors.
