Leigh Greenwood is the fifty-nine-year-old author of twenty-six historical romances, six contemporary romances, and four Christmas novella. A resident of Charlotte, North Carolina, Leigh is an ex-school teacher who started writing seriously in 1983. He completed three manuscripts before he sold his first book in 1986. CADE, the first book in Leigh's The Night Riders series, will be a March, 2002 release from Leisure Books. Undercover Honeymoon is a February 2002 release from Silhouette Special Edition. An award-winning author whose books consistently appear on the USA Today bestseller list as well as Waldenbooks, B. Dalton's and Ingram's Most Requested List, Leigh is one of the few men to successfully publish in the romance genre. He is the only one presently making national bestseller lists. Leigh served three years as advisor or co-advisor of his local Romance Writers of America chapter before spending four years on the national Board of Directors. Presently serving as president of RWA, Leigh was the recipient of the 1993 Regional and National service awards for his work in RWA. A popular speaker, Leigh had spoken at more than a dozen romance and multi-genre conferences from Boston to California and from Texas to Chicago. Before turning to a career in writing, Leigh earned a BA and an MA in Voice and Musicology from the University of North Carolina. He taught music in schools and churches for thirty-two years before retiring in 1993 to write full time. Leigh is married with three grown children and enjoys gardening when he can find time off from writing and his duties as husband, father, and slave to the family cat.
