Summary
In Zurich in 1917, Lenin was under pressure from both the Germans and Allies alike. He agreed to a deal in which he promised to make a separate peace with the Germans in exchange for permission to travel in a sealed train across Germany to Russia. This is an account of that seven-day journey.
