Decorated endpapers and pastedowns. Text block detached to rear board, slightly attached to front. Severe cracking to gutters and front hinge, causing some pages and plates to be detached. Binding is very loose, with exposed binding. Pages are lightly tanned with some foxing throughout. Previous owner's inscription to front endpaper. Noticeable tears and creases to page edges, text is unaffected. Thumb-marking throughout, with visible black marks to endpapers and pastedowns. Boards have moderate edge wear with corner bumping. Noticeable tanning to spine and edges with some crushing to spine ends. Small splits to spine ends, causing cloth to be frayed. Gilt lettering is darkened. Book is bowed and forward leaning. All pages and plates are present.
