Black and white illustration plates throughout and similar frontispiece, all with tissue guard. Pages bright with some tanning and foxing, particularly to textblock edges and endpapers. Cracking to front hinge with netting exposed. Binding remains firm. Boards have heavy shelf wear with bumping and fraying to corners, crushing to spine ends and rubbing and moderate staining all over. Spine heavily worn and deteriorating. Gilt dulled.
