First published in 1993 and reprinted twice that year, the second edition of Aerofilms Guide: Football Grounds was published in 1994 and was out of print within weeks of publication; this success was maintained with the past nine editions reflecting that, for many supporters, Aerofilms Guide: Football Grounds is an indispensable reference to away matches. The success of the 11th edition was such that it had to be quickly reprinted to meet the large demand for the book and this reprint was quickly snapped up by supporters nationwide. This 12th edition has again been fully revised and includes information on the many ground alterations that have been completed over the past 12 months. The past season has again been one of uncertainty for football both on and off the pitch, with a number of clubs facing severe financial difficulties, most notably the high-profile challenge to the survival of Leeds United. The number of clubs that have been forced to go into Administration grew during 2003/04 and a number of others escaped that fate only by the skin of their teeth. Despite these problems, however, much investment continues to go into the various grounds around the country as football grows in popularity. For this new edition of the guide, work at grounds as varied as Kidderminster, Blackpool, Norwich, Walsall and Wolverhampton is recorded as is continuing development of the new Wembley Stadium. As in 2002/03, two clubs will again be promoted from the Nationwide Conference and two familiar names will disappear. As before, the book includes an aerial photo-map of each ground allowing the reader to locate the stadium in relation to the surrounding streets and public transport facilities. Detailed information is also provided about telephone numbers, addresses, parking and much else. In order to make the book more 'user-friendly' to visiting fans, the 12th edition again includes plans of the actual grounds identifying blocks and disabled facilities and these have again been updated in the light of changes over the past season.
