Author interview

Get to know the author behind the book

The first book I fell in love with was Oliver Twist by Charles Dickens. I read it time and time again.

The book on my bedside table is Adam Bede by George Eliot. I had the good fortune to live for many years in the Warwickshire farmhouse featured in the novel.

I get inspiration from all kinds of sources. It comes when I least expect it.

I developed a reading habit when I was still at primary school. Over the years, I've built up a huge library. Nothing beats a good book.

Learn how to write from the best teachers. Mine have been Charles Dickens, Robert Louis Stevenson, George Eliot, Anthony Trollope and P.G Wodehouse.
