1 Peter by Philip Greenslade
In '1 Peter - The Living Hope', Philip Greenslade challenges us, "dare to live lives as different as God is different". He calls us to holiness, living as God intended with distinctive lifestyles, within our cultures. Lifestyles generated by the gospel causing us to live holy, different lives with a living hope in every area of our lives including attitude to authority, relationships, doing good, living for god, and suffering for our faith. Through all of this runs the centrality of the cross and Philip refers to the Passion of the Christ to highlight this. Finally the book brings out the reality that true grace is a tough grace with a great hope.
After graduating from Southampton University, Philip studied at Spurgeon's College, gaining a BD through London University. Subsequent responsibility as a Baptist minister and in leadership of a large independent charismatic church has given him a wide writing, preaching and teaching ministry in the UK and overseas. Recently Philip has collaborated with Selwyn on some editions of Every Day with Jesus. Philip is also a theological advisor to Spring Harvest.
