This book shows the French reaction to the return of Napoleon and his seizing the reins of power again and beginning the process of recruitment for the next French army. The author also draws a portrait of Wellington, both at the Congress of Vienna and in his relations with the other commanders of the allied army, particularly Blucher, followed of course by the dramatic campaign in Belgium and the Battle of Waterloo.
