Peter Holman, MD, originates from Dublin, Ireland. After medical school, he left for Ontario, Canada where he completed training in Internal Medicine and Hematology. He is currently on the faculty at the University of California, San Diego where he holds appointments in the Divisions of Hematology/Oncology and Blood and Marrow Transplantation. His primary clinical and research interests relate to the development and introduction of novel treatments for the management of lymphoma. Jodi Garrett has been a nurse working with leukemia and lymphoma patients for over 20 years. She attended nursing school in Texas and trained at the MD Anderson Cancer Center and worked as a nurse there for 8 years. She now continues her career on the West coast at the University of California, San Diego. Jodi holds a national certification from the Oncology Nursing Society and volunteers for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of America by conducting a monthly support group for patients and family members, a group she has been facilitating for over 10 years. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her husband and 2 children. William “Bill” Jansen, born in 1944, is a self-employed consulting engineer who lives in San Diego, California with his wife Georgene. Bill gets his exercise by playing racquetball, polishing a silver Corvette, and shooting a competition pistol. His two poodles take him for a walk every night. Bill had swollen lymph nodes removed in 1996 and again in 1998. The second pathology revealed non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. Bill responded very well to radiation therapy in 1998. Under the continued care of Dr. Holman he now “watches and waits.”
