100 Ways to Improve Your Horse's Behaviour by Susan Mcbanc
Understanding how and why a horse behaves as it does is key to solving problems and this book reveals current thinking on this fascinating subject. Equine behaviour is today's hot topic. Years ago owners and riders coped with behavioural problems by forceful means, with little attempt to understand the underlying cause. Now all that has changed and owners clamour to discover what makes their horses 'tick'. This book presents detailed, concise answers to 100 common issues. Topics include: the different schools of thought about equine behaviour; how horses associate with each other, with humans and with other animals; how to tell what a horse is feeling; overcoming past ill-treatment; meeting a horse halfway; and whether there are such things as dominance and hierarchies in horse society. It is not always possible to 'cure' a problem behaviour but there are always ways to manage it. In this comprehensive and accessible problem solver readers will find practical, reliable ways for solving or greatly improving behavioural problems.
