The 1950s by Sara Green

Prosperity, suburbia, teenagers, and rock and roll created nostalgia around the 1950s. But it was also a time of inequality, division, and political tension. This book presents readers with a look into life in the 1950s. A narrative scene takes readers back in time, and factual text highlights the decade's political, cultural, and social events. Spotlights narrow in on important events, and features provide a look at everyday life through decade slang and price comparisons. A timeline provides a visual representation of the decade's most important and influential events.
Sara Green holds a PhD degree in Science Studies from Aarhus University on the topic: Systems Biology and the Quest for General Principles. Her research focuses on the philosophical implications of new strategies in the life sciences with special focus on systems biology and systems medicine. Sara was a postdoctoral fellow at the Center for Philosophy of Science, University of Pittsburgh, in 2014/2015, and is now post.doc. at the Department of Science Education, University of Copenhagen.
