Her childhood was spent in two places: Nova Scotia's woods, lakes, and seaside beaches, and a little hamlet in southern Ontario. Her father was a superb calligrapher, artist, and potter, and her magnificent stepmother is a painter who worked with him for three decades in a ceramic workshop. Her mother is a talented painter whose work has been displayed in galleries across Canada. They were all among the many influences that inspired Emma to pursue a career in art, as well as many joyful childhood years spent playing in the woods and adult travels across the world.
Emma studied International Relations at first, but later shifted to graphic design at an art school. She has worked on an increasing quantity of illustration during her career as a designer. Emma is currently based in Vancouver, where she works.
