42 Etudes (Caprices) for Violin by Rodolphe Kreutzer

Born in Versailles, Rodolphe Kreutzer initially learned violin from his father, a violinist at the Royal Chapel, and subsequently from Anton Stamitz. In 1795 Kreutzer began a thirty-year career as violin teacher at the Paris Conservatory and, from 1801 was the principal violin at the Paris Opéra. Kreutzer's importance as a pedagogue, the founder of the French School of violin playing, is revealed in his educational materials. This classic Edition Peters volume of Kreutzer's 42 Etudes of Caprices edited by Friedrich Hermann is a cornerstone of any aspiring violinist's library. Designed for the practical musician, it is beautifully bound and printed on cream paper with weight, opacity and grain direction optimal for music publications.
