"A Story, A Story: An African Tale Retold " by Gail E Haley
Synopsis coming soon.......Gail E.Haley had a long and illustrious career as a writer and illustrator of children's books, having written and illustrated over forty titles. Noah's Ark, A Tale A Story, and Two Bad Boys, for example, have all been praised for their social concern toward endangered people and animals. She is the only person in the world to have received both the Caldecott Medal and the Kate Greenaway Medal, as well as the Kadai Tosho (Japan). She worked at Appalachian State University as a Writer in Residence for fourteen years. She has given workshops and talks at universities all around the United States.
Canada, England, Australia, and South Africa are among the countries represented. Her textual descriptions of ladies who emerged from the darkness of dark and forbidden territory--denizens of a mental institution early in the twentieth century--have been given a vividness by her illustrator's eye.
