
Abingdon Past and Present by Judy Thomas
A look at how life has changed in the Oxfordshire town of Abingdon since the last century and beyond, contrasting old pictures with the corresponding scene today. The photographs, many previously unpublished, include not only streets and buildings, but also images of people going about their daily lives, then and now.
Judy Thomas has lived in Abingdon for over thirty years and was a founder member of Abingdon Archaeological and Historical Society. She is the author of Abingdon in Camera ( self published), 1979). Elizabeth Drury moved to the town more than twenty years ago. A Keen amateur photographer, she has been recording local scenes and events since the late 1970's.
