Jennifer Baumgardner is the author of Look Both Ways: Bisexual Politics and Abortion & Life, as well as other works. She co-wrote the Third Wave classics Manifesta: Young Women, Feminism, and the Future and Grassroots: A Field Guide to Feminist Action with Amy Richards. Baumgardner leads Feminist Summer Camp and Feminist Winter Term in New York with Richards as co-owner of the feminist speakers bureau Soapbox, Inc., and she has talked at over 300 schools. Among other publications, she contributes to Glamour, The Nation, Real Simple, and Babble. She produced the award-winning documentary I Had an Abortion as well as a film about rape that will be released soon.

Baumgardner's work has been on shows ranging from The Oprah Winfrey Show to NPR's Talk of the Nation, as well as in publications such as The New York Times, BBC News Hour, and other publications. In their centennial year of 2003, the Commonwealth Club of California named her one of six Visionaries for the Twenty-First Century, stating that [Baumgardner's] role as author and activist has irrevocably changed the way people think about feminism...and will affect the next 100 years of politics and society. She lives in New York City with her husband and two sons as a writing professor at The New School.
