When Calvin Chambers is arrested for the murder of a young girl who is caught in the crossfire of a shooting, his mother Andrea, a former defence lawyer, manages to free him by agreeing to defend a Yardie hit man. She then becomes embroiled in a case where corruption, drugs and violence are rife.
Dexter Dias is a practising barrister specialising in criminal defence and legal aid cases. He is in his early thirties, and was inspired to try write fiction when he met Ruth Rendell while defending a client on a murder charge.
