A former SAS soldier, Lewis Gordon Pugh is the only person to have swum long distance in all 5 oceans of the world, his extraordinary efforts undertaken primarily to raise awareness of climate change. In August 2006 he became the first person to swim the length of the Thames from source to sea and, in February 2007, the first to swim at the North Pole. He lives in London and South Africa.
